Being a cheerleader means practice Monday- Friday from 2:15- 4:00. You will also attend meet and greet at the elementary every Friday morning, making signs to hang in the hallway for every game, pep rallies for every home game, hall marches for every away game, football, and basketball games. Every year we will put on a mini cheer camp as a fundraiser. Varsity Cheer gives students the opportunity to be a positive leader at Poteau High School and show their school spirit.
Valerie Odom is the PHS Cheer coach. She teaches at the primary school, and has her bachelors in Education with Concentration in Mathematics. Valerie is married to Mike Odom, has a daughter named Morgan, and a son named Dean.
